



Founder/Executive Artistic Director
Bruce Robinson, a 35 plus year theatre veteran, is a producer, director, actor, writer, theater arts teacher and workshop leader. He is a Barrymore award winner, and a winner of the KYW TV-3 "People Making a Difference" award. Bruce was the co-founder and executive artistic director of the Mitchell-Robinson Youth Theatre for 14 years where he was the lead drama teacher and director of both youth and adult productions. He has just celebrated his eighth year as the founder and executive artistic director of FreshVisions Youth Theatre, an outgrowth of Mitchell-Robinson. For the past six seasons, Bruce has been the resident director for the Philadelphia component of the Massachusetts-based professional touring theatre company FoodPlay. Bruce has also directed at such venues as: The Ritz Theatre, The Prince Music Theatre, Tova, Eastern University Theatre, The Philadelphia Theatre Caravan, The Philadelphia Drama Ensemble, and Theatre Center of Philadelphia, among others. As an actor Bruce has performed extensively with The American Historical Theatre giving many solo presentations, directed by himself, recounting the lives of famous African American historical personages such as, James Forten, the sail maker and George Washington's slave cook, Hercules.
Also of note is Bruce's one man show, which pays tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. entitled, "The Heart of a King," which he has performed to enthusiastic audiences of children and adults for over ten years. Bruce has also performed numerous times with InterAct Theater, playing lead roles in such productions as: "Seascape, "Between Men and Cattle," "The Emperor Jones, and "Mud," to name a few. Additionally, Bruce was the associate education director for InterAct's educational outreach program InterActions for 19 years. As a writer, Bruce has written over 2 dozen plays, many of which; "Alicia in Ghettal-Land," "Cocoa Brown and the 7 Homies, "WizUp!" and "Marching to Freedomland," have garnered much acclaim and achieved quite a devoted following.
