Carmen Butler

Dance Department Director

Carmen has been dancer, dance teacher and choreographer for nearly 40 years since joining the famed Arthur Hall Dance Ensemble in 1974. She earned a BA in Dance at Point Park College in Pittsburgh, PA 1979 and subsequently trained in the Dunham Technique becoming a certified master of this technique. Carmen has taught dance at Cheltenham Township Adult School, Zion Baptist Church, St Thomas Episcopal Summer Arts Camp, to name a few. She has also given her workshop on Afro-Cuban Music and Dance to numerous Philadelphia libraries. She has been teaching dance at FreshVisions for 10 years and for the last three years has been director of the dance department.
