Thom has been in the performing arts for over 40 years. He is a master teacher, actor director and writer. As a teacher, he has taught all over the country, including Smith College, SUNY at Fredonia, The University of Oklahoma, The American University, and the University of New Mexico, to name a few. In Philadelphia, he has taught at Temple University, The New Freedom Theatre, The Point Breeze Performing Arts Center, The Mitchell-Robinson Youth Theatre and its offshoot, Fresh Visions Youth Theatre. As a performer, he has appeared on stage in "The Amen Corner," "Raisin in the Sun," "Days of Absence," "Do Lord, Remember Me," and in such films as "My Little Girl," "Money For Nothing," and "Trading Places." As a Director, Thom has mounted such productions as: "The Wait," "The Amen Corner", "Raisin in the Sun", "Day of Absence," "Do Lord, Remember Me," "Wet Carpets," "The Trial of Adam Clayton Powell," "Being with the Guitar & Suitcase," "Frost on the Window," and others. Thom has written such plays as "Survive," "Shadow People," "Forever Duke," and "Chucky Black & The Project Pecans."
